Once inside, mosquitos contact the specially treated gauze near the water surface and get contaminated with a larvicide and a fungus. They then fly out of the trap while carrying the larvicide on their legs which they transport and contaminate several breeding sites around the trap with. This kills larvae in small and hard to find breeding sources. The fungus kills the mosquito within a few days before it can spread disease. This eliminates adult mosquitos as well as prevents new mosquitos from spawning in your yard.

How effective is the In2Care Mosquito Trap? Field efficacy studies confirmed that the fungus effectively kills mosquitos several days after gauze exposure, which allows them to spread larvicide to other sites before dying. There were massive reductions in adult mosquitos produced in other sites near the trap: more than 80% were inhibited from emerging as adult mosquitos.
