2025

The New Year brings a new set of pest challenges to the Capital Region.  Let’s take a look at what you can do to prepare for a year filled with more fun and less pest issues in and around your home.

2025 Pest Control Tips

  1. Consider how pests might enter your home by conducting a thorough exterior inspection. Seal all entry points with pest-resistant materials. No opening is too small to cover. Identify and fill in gaps where mice can enter the home. Mice can fit in an opening as small as 1/8th of an inch.
  2. What are pests looking for? Food! Keep your home clean and tidy, and store food in airtight containers. Eliminate potential food sources like crumbs. Be sure to clean regularly to minimize the interest rodents and insects may have in entering your home.
  3. Pests are also looking for moisture. Check faucets, pipes, basements, etc. for leaks and moisture to disincentivize pests from coming inside.
  4. Plan ahead for spring and summer by selecting an exterior pest treatment from your local pest control professional. An effective prevention plan is essential to keeping pest issues at bay.
  5. Be watchful for the reemergence of overwintering pests. As winter fades and spring reappears, so do stink bugs and lady bugs who have been hiding out for the winter.
